H.E.A.R.T (Helping Ease Abuse Related Trauma), the Los Angeles based organization that offers support to the child victims of abuse, has been working diligently to advocate for and heal the vulnerable community it serves for over two decades.

Founder Eve Gerber started H.E.A.R.T 24 years ago after meeting Dr. Astrid Heger who is recognized as the worlds expert in child sex abuse and at the time was a clinical professor at USC and pediatrician at LA County Hospital. She also ran a clinic for victims of child abuse and sexual assault out of an abandoned trailer in the hospital parking lot. When they met, Gerber was also pregnant with her first child and immediately dove into supporting Dr. Heger in her work.

Over two decades later, H.E.A.R.T’s work continues to serve the Los Angeles community through the support of its members as well as several bold names in the fashion community.

The group has an annual, star studded fundraising event with Stella McCartney and this year launched a t-shirt done in collaboration with Re/Done.

In a full circle story, the baby girl Gerber was carrying back when she started H.E.A.R.T is now a marketing manager at Re/Done and together with their design and production team created this years HEART tee where 100% of the profits benefit The Violence Intervention Program.

The t-shirt is $85 and can be found on the www.heartofvip.org.
