Well, it’s that time of year again.  We always look forward to officially kicking off spring at the AKID Brand’s 3rd Annual The Egg Hunt but in a strange twist, LA rain predictions loomed and the event actually had to be postponed a week.  All’s well that ends well and this year did not disappoint with the 3rd installment of this much anticipated event from the celebrity favorite children’s shoe brand.

This year AKID partnered with the GOOD+ Foundation on a shoe drive.   Guests were asked to bring new or gently used shoes to donate to GOOD+ Foundation (AKID is matching the donation as well) and each child got to select a new pair of AKID’s for themselves from the gifting lounge and had the option of getting them custom airbrushed by on-site artists.  Not only did the kids take home a rad new pair of shoes, but we love the chance to engage our children in charitable conversations that they can understand and helping out those who aren’t as fortunate.

After donating shoes, kids were given tickets to pick up a new pair of AKID sneakers to have them customized by on site spray paint artists in whatever manner they chose.  Monogramming was a big hit, along with flames, butterflies and of course, stars.

Now on to the main event! Our kids could barely fall asleep the night before in anticipation of the hunt itself.  The lawn was covered with thousands of pieces of candy and the most coveted Hatchimals CollEGGtibles so security had their job cut out for them trying to keep the eager partygoers from running out before official start.

The event had a custom 12ft dollhouse created for Moonlite where guests could curl up inside and listen to their favorite stories projected against the wall straight from an iPhone.  If you aren’t familiar with this company, get familiar ASAP.  Bedtime seems to roll around very quickly in our house and every night we are almost in disbelief that we are back in that glider reading stories.  Moonlite adds another dimension to the bedtime routine that will take off some of the heavy lifting and leave your kids dreaming of story time.

Kids had non stop fun with beautifully set up craft stations, slides, tacos as well as a visit from The Hatchimal mascot itself.

Lest you forget that there were in fact adults at the party as well, parents were spoiled at the Empress 1908 botanical bar with the most delicious violet cocktails and the yummiest food from Guerrilla Tacos and Haute Chefs LA plus hydration from Flow Alkaline Spring Water.

Co-founder Missy Magsaysay and her son Miles strategized on their plan of attack to take it all in.
