diane-von-furstenberg-with-children-the-evolution-of-dvf-soheleeIn celebration of the premiere od her new show “House of DVF“, we’ve chosen Diane Von Furstenberg as our Momspiration Monday.  The woman who famously said, “I didn’t know what I wanted to do, but I always knew the type of woman I wanted to be” became the woman that so many of us aspire to be like as well.  Von Furstenberg’s 40 year plus success story has been anything but linear and her mantra has always been to stay engaged in life.  She recently told the Guardian, “It’s so important for women to have children but it is equally important for women to have an identity outside the home. You have to be engaged, you have to be part of the world. … It doesn’t have to be a job. It can be that you bake [sic] the best jam in the world and everyone wants a piece of your jam. What matters is doing something.”

Working harder than ever in her sixties, Von Furstenberg is still in her prime.  She has two children, Alexander and Tatiana, and four grandchildren. With all of her successes, Diane happily maintains, “Children are my greatest creation.”
