While Coachella (Valley Music and Arts Festival) is top of people’s minds when mentioning Palm Springs at the moment, there’s something else brewing in the desert that we feel is much more, well, our speed.
It’s still a very interesting crowd and quite a bit of a party, but here you can bring the kids without thinking twice (in fact, you should most definitely bring the kids) and the chances of losing your car after a long night of house music in the dance tent are slim to none.
All thanks to Atwater Village-based Crafting Community, the hub of all things fun, creative and family-friendly DIY, in Los Angeles, there now exists an event that blends our affinity for cool poolside activities and the vibrant, hands on, artsy goodness that kids love so much. And even better, it’s a whole weekend getaway package that keeps the entire family immersed and entertained while on a quick pre-summer holiday.
From May 1st – May 3rd, Crafting Community’s event at The Ace Hotel, Palm Springs will be taking place; bringing the studio’s eclectic and exciting crafting program to the desert. The weekend will be packed with workshops (think, underwater photography, leather working, tie-dye and succulent gardens) morning yoga, dance classes, skateboarding and even Soul Cycle sessions.
When not crafting or dancing, enjoy BBQs, ice cream parties and unlimited pool access.
It really is a refreshing take on the traditional family fun weekend, that fosters creativity, design and community in kids and parents alike.
